MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 24, 1999 <br />RE.SOI, UTION NO. 99-2-44 - RESCH~DULEING THE <br />WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28, 1999 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING TO <br />TUESDAY, APRII. 27, 1999 AT 7:30 P.M. <br />The foregoin~ resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Morelan, Pedersen, LaValle, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />REDEVELOP- The City Administrator reported that there are representatives from Towle <br />MENT Real Estate present this evening relative to their proposal to broker the <br />ISSUES - Country Drive site. The Administrator reported that he has had a couple <br />RICE STR./ of people express interest in this site. Therefore, he would like to <br />LITTLE postpone entering into any brokerage arrangement until he can determine <br />CANADA RD. whether or not this interest in the site is serious. If not, then the <br />AND Administrator felt that the City should become very aggressive in <br />COUNTRY marketing the Country Drive property due to the fact that every year that <br />DRIVE passes makes TIF assistance more difficult to provide due to the <br /> compressed class rates issue. <br />Fahey suggested that if the interested parties do not come forward with <br />development proposals, then the City should look at soliciting brokerage <br />companies. The Administrator stated that he could contact other brokers <br />active in this market. The Administrator suggested that the Council hold a <br />workshop meeting to set the parameters of what the City is willing to do <br />so that interested developers will have this information on the front end. <br />The Administrator suggested that he should know within a couple of <br />weeks whether or not the interest is serious for Counriy Drive. If not, the <br />brokera~e arrangement should be considered. <br />It was the consensus of the Council to hold a warkshop on Wednesday, <br />April 14, 1999 at 6:00 P.M. to discuss the Country Drive redevelopment <br />area as wel( as the Rice Street/Little Canada Road redevelopment area. <br />1997 UBC The City Administrator reported that the report listing the other <br />FEE cities that have adopted the 1997 UBC fee schedule is for information <br />5CHEDULE purposes.
