MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 14, 1999
were not drawn up yet at the time the roof and sign permits were applied
for.
Reiling noted that if these were stand-along requests they would not be
subject to architectural review because the value is under the threshold
required forthe architectural guidelines to kick in.
Scalze indicated that it was her understanding until tonight that Reiling
and Drake were a part of the only proposal that has been submitted to the
Council, and that is the Perry Linn proposal.
Drake reported that under the Linn proposal, they wanted to continue
operation of the car wash. When Linn changed his proposal, eliminating
the car wash from the site, their p(ans changed as well.
Fahey pointed out that it is incumbent on the Councii to consider the long-
term and what is in the best interests of the City. Fahey stated that it was
clear which development proposal he was in support of, and suggested that
if Reiling and Drake want to redevelopment the site, they should put
together a redevelopment plan which looks like the Linn development.
Reiling stated that they want to proceed with the new roof and signage for
the car wash and indicated that they already purchased and paid for the
materials.
Fahey suggested that Reiling and Drake address the permit issue with the
City Administrator.
CONSENT Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
AGENDA
RE,SOI.UTIONNO. 99-4-78-APPROVING THE CONSENT
AGENDA WHICH CONTAINS TFIE FOI,LOWINC:
*APPROVING THE CLOS'IIRE OF FUNDS 3l7AND 467AND
TRANSFER OF 73ALANCES AS RECOMMENDED I3Y CITY STAFF;
*APPROVING THE AGREEMENT FOR FIREWORKS DISPLAYAT
CANADIAN I)AYS AND AUTFIORIZINC THE MAYOR AND CITY
ADMINISTR,9TOR TO EXECUTE ON I3EHALF OF THE CITY;
*ACCEPTING WITH RECRETS TFIE RESIGNATION OF 13RIAN
I3EHMAS THE CITY'S CA73I.E TV PRODUCER;
