MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 27, 1999
complaints against Gordies, and feels that Gordies has been a good
neighbor to Fluer Royal.
Scalze suggested that people at Fluer Royal may not be aware of what is
goin~ on.
Morelan suggested that moving the court further north may impact Fluer
Royal more. Morelan sug~;ested the City should be looking at the impact
on Fluer Royal with regard to noise, parkin~, and lighting. Morelan noted
there may be no difference with regard to noise and parkin~, however,
lighting may be an issue. Morelan stated that he was not totally convinced
that this should not be handled in a more formal manner.
Scalze stated that she would like to see an updated site plan ofwhat is
being proposed.
The City Administrator reported that he received about a dozen calis today
about this issue, approximately 10 of that expressed concern while 2 were
supportive. The Administrator indicated that it seems there is some
misinformation out there. The Administrator pointed out that in approving
the CITP the Council did retain the right to review the screening of the
court with the requirement of additional screening, if necessary.
Fahey asked if the court would be lighted. Cossack replied that there
would be one light that will face toward Quicksilver.
Scalze asked if Cossack had a revised site plan. Cossack replied that the
boot hockey court would be moved directly north of the volleyball court
alon~; the eastern property line of Gordies.
Fahey suggested that City staff could review the lightin~; and landscaping
plans for the courts rather than putting this through the formal process
again.
Scalze asked that a revised site plan be submitted and that the plan show
the landscaping and lightin~.
Morelan sug~ested that the matter be tabled for two weeks and that the
Council could review the site plan at its next meeting. This would also
give Fluer Royal residents an opportunity to voice their opinion.
Cossack stated that he would like to begin relocating the court as soon as
possible.
I6
