MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 25, 1999 <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the followin~ resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI,UTION NO. 99-5-125 -AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE <br />OF UP TO $Z, 700 TOWARD THE COST OF THAT PORTION OF <br />THE CITY OF VADNAIS HEIGHTS' COMPREHENSIVE WATER <br />.STUDY THAT INCI.UDES LITTLE CANADA AND ,SUI3.IECT TO <br />THE APPROPRIATE COST SFIARING FOR ANY VADNAIS <br />HEIGHTS PROPERTIES INCL UDED IN THIS PORTION OF THE <br />STUDY, AND TAI3LING ACTION ON THE TWIN I,AKE PINES <br />ADDITION UNTII. THE JUNE 22, 1999 CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />PENDING RECEIPT OF A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH <br />THE CITY OF VADNAIS HEIGHTS, AND PENDING RECEIPT OF <br />A I,ETTER FROMMR. PRATTAGREEINC TO THAT EXTENSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (4) LaValle, Fahey, Pedersen, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />SUMP PUMP Fahey opened the public hearing to consider enactment of a City-wide <br />INSPECTION sump pump inspection program. The Council reviewed the guidelines <br />PROGRAM for administration of this program as submitted by City staff <br />There was no one from the ~eneral public present wishing to comment on <br />this matter. <br />Upon motion by Scalze, seconded by Pedersen, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the followin~ resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RE.SOI. UTION NO. 99-5-126 -ADOPTING THE SUMP PUMP <br />INSPECTION PROGRAMAS RECOMMENDED 73Y C7TY STAFF <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, LaValle, Pedersen, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LITTLE CANADA Jean Donovan, Little Canada Historical Society, appeared before the <br />ffiSTORICAL Council and reported that the Historical Society would like to conduct <br />SOCIETY - charitable ~ambling in order to earn funds to repay the City for the cost <br />REQUEST TO of their new site. Donovan reported that Lake Owasso has agreed to <br />CONDUCT give up one of their days at the Little Canada Bingo Hall to the Historical <br />GAMBLING Society. Betty Strohbeen of Lake Owasso has also agreed to assist the <br /> Historical Society in ~etting their gambling operation offthe ground. <br />15 <br />
