MINUTES CITY COUNCIL MAY 25, 1999 Mr. LaValle introduced the followin~ resolution and moved its adoption: RE.SOI.UTION N0. 99-5-128 -APPROVING THE RENEWAL OF GAM137 ING LICENSE AND PREMISES PERMITS AT GORDIES' PI,ACE AND HOGGSBREATH FOR THE LITTLE CANADA FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR THE LICENSE PERIOD AUCUST 1, 1999 THROUGHJUI.Y31, 2001 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (4) LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. Ayes (4) LaValle, Scalze, Fahey, Pedersen. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. GOOSE The City Administrator reported that last year the City as well as some CONTROL high density housing complexes participated in a program with the University of Minnesota for goose control. However, in collecting for the cost of the program, some of the housing complexes failed to pay their share indicating that there was never the appropriate authorization for this expenditure. The Administrator reported that this program is a two-year program and asked if the Council wanted to continue with the second year. He also noted that the City has received complaints about geese again this year. The Administrator also reported that St. John's School has indicated a willingness to participate in the cost of the program as has St. Jude Medical. The Council discussed the pro~ram and the indication from the U ofM that a two-year effort would have the most impact on the problem. The Council instructed the City Administrator to continue his efforts with re~ard to cost participation by various entities in the City, and to authorize the U of M to proceed with the second year. 17
