MINUT.~S <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 22, 1999 <br />The foregoin~ resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (4) Fahey, Scalze, Morelan, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />COMP PLAN The City Planner reported that they will be drafting a response to the Met <br />UPDATE Council relative to the City's Comp Plan update and should have it <br />available for the Council at its next meeting. The Planner reviewed the <br />history of the City's submission of the Comp Plan. The Plan was <br />submitted on December 31, 1998 to the Met CounciL Once submitted <br />otherjurisdictions have 60 days within which to review. Comments were <br />received from the City of Maplewood as well as the Watershed District. <br />After that 60-day time period has elapsed, the Met Council then has 10 <br />days within which to comment. The Met Council's comments were not <br />received for three weeks. Therefore, the City's Comp Plan may <br />technically be adopted. <br />The Planner reported that he will be respondin~ to the points raised by <br />both the City of Maplewood and the Watershed District, and will forward <br />those comments on to the Met Council. He will also raise the point ofthe <br />Met Council's failure to comment on the City's plan in a timely manner, <br />The Planner reported that this is the letter he will submit to the Council for <br />review at their next meeting. <br />Morelan indicated that he can lppreciate the hurdles necessary to process <br />the Comp Plan update.
