MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 14, 1999
PROPERTY
DIVISION/
COMBINATION
165 EAST
VIKING DR. -
RICK THUL
Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey, LaValle.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
Morelan indicated that he understands that the signage proposed by Taco
John's meets the intent of the City's architectural guidelines. Morelan
asked if there was any necessity to revise the guidelines to make them
more clear. The City Planner felt the language as contained in the
guidelines provides for some flexibility and there was no reason to modify
it.
Mayor Fahey opened the public hearing to consider the property division/
combination proposed by Rick Thul at 165 East Viking Drive. Thul is
proposing to combine a 9-foot by 90 foot strip of property to the rear of
his existing lot. It was noted that tlte Planning Commission has
recommended approval of the property division.
There was no one present from the public wishing to comment on this
matter.
Upon motion be Scalze, seconded by Morelan, the public hearing was
closed.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
REb'QI. UTION NO. 99-7-I73 - APPROVINCi THE PROPERTY
DIVISION/COMI3INATION FOR 165 EAST VIKING DRIVE AS
PROPO.SED 13Y RICK THUI. b'UI3JECT TO COMPI ]ANCE WLTH
THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNER AS
CONTAINED IN IIIS REPORT DATED JUI, Y 2, 1999
The foregoing resohition w1s duly seconded by Morelan.
Ayes (5) Scalze, Morelan, Pahey, Pedersen, LaValle.
Nays(0). Resolution declared adopted.
Morelan noted that the Planner indicated some concern about the property
to the north and the ability to meet setbacks if this strip were divided from
this parcel. The Planner indicated that he inspected the site since writing
the report, and confirmed that there would be no problem in dividing the
9-foot by 90-foot strip.
CUP FOR Mayor Fahey opened the public hearing to consider a Conditional Use
GARAGE - Permit to allow construction of garage space up to the maximum of 1,500
3075 square feet at 3075 F,dgerton Su~eet as requested by Mr. John Erdmann.
