MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 14, 1999 <br />CUP & Council noted that the Planning Commission has tabled action on the <br />VARiANCE request For Conditional Use Permit and Variance at 209 Ryan Drive, <br />209 RYAN owned by Roger Stanl<e, until their August meeting. <br />DRIVE - <br />STANK~ Mc LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI.UTION NO. 99-7-175 - CONTINUING THE PU137IC <br />FIEARING FOR THE STANKE CONDITIONAI, USE PERMIT AND <br />VARIANCE RE~ UE.ST FOR 209 RYAN DRIVE PENDING A <br />RECOMMENDATION FROM THE PI.ANNING COMMIS:SION <br />MEETIn'G <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaVal(e, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CUP - Mayor Fahey opened the public hearing to consider a Conditional <br />3179 SPRUCE Use Permit for open and outdoor storage of construction equipment and <br />STRE~T - materials as a principal use for one business and open and outdoor storage <br />DON VAL~NTO of equipment, materill, and two semi-trailers as an accessory use for <br />another business at 3 l 79 Spruce Street owned by Don Valento. It was <br />noted that the Planning Commission recommended approval of the CUP <br />subject to complilnce with the recommendations of the Zoning <br />Administrltor as contained in her memo dated June 28, 1999. <br />Don Vaiento reported that he has some concerns with complying with the <br />Zonin~ Administrator's recommendations. Valento reported that the lot is <br />a difficult one to work with given the Metro Sewer easement at the front <br />of the propeity and the Water Depa~tment easement at the back. Valento <br />reported that the Water Department has allowed him use of25 feet ofthe <br />easement area until the year 2003. Valento repo~ted that he will try to get <br />this use agreement extended. However, the easements make it extremely <br />difficult to get I S parking spaces on the property. Valento pointed out that <br />the site pla~~ as laid out shows 5 parl<ing space at the rear of the property. <br />Valento questioned the need for 15 parking spaces reportin~; that the <br />business occupyin~ the site has only 6 employees and there are never more <br />than 5 to 6 cars on tl~e site. Valento also repoirted thatthey will eliminate <br />the two semi-trailers from the site. <br />
