MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 13,1999 <br />~ADOPTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 494 AMENDING THE <br />PUBLIC (P) ZONING DISTRICT RELATIVE TO OUTDOOR <br />STORAGE OF MATERIALS <br />*APPROVING A TEMPORARY ON-SALE LIQUOR LICENSE FOR <br />LITTLE CANADA RECREATION ASSOCIATION'S HALLOWEEN <br />DANCE TO BE HELD AT ST. JOHN'S GYMNASIUM ON <br />SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30, I999 <br />*APPROVING THE 2000 SCORE RECYCLING GRANT <br />APPLICATION AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THAT <br />GRAND AGREEMENT <br />*APPROVING THE CLOSING OF FUND 430 AND TRANSFER OF <br />BALANCES TO THE GENERAL CAPITEIL IMPROVEMENT FUND <br />AS RECOMMENDED BY CITY STAFF <br />*APPROVING THE VOUCHERS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Morelan, Pedersen, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CUP FOR Mayor Fahey opened the continuation of the public hearing to consider <br />OUTDOOR the Conditional Use Permit for open and outdoor storage of materials <br />STORAGE - as an accessory use at the City Garage located at 3100 Country Drive. <br />CITY GARAGE The Planning Commission had recommended approval of the CUP. <br />There was no one from the public present wishing to comment on this <br />matter. <br />Upon motion by Fahey, seconded by LaValle, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />The Public Works Director described the City Garage property on Country <br />Drive pointing out the fact that the property is very long and narrow. The <br />Director reported that he is proposed two storage yards on the side yards <br />of the pro~erty. The Director pointed out that the City's ordinance <br />requires that outdoor storage be screened. He is proposing to fence in the <br />storage areas and screen with landscaping. However, it will not be <br />possible to landscape in such a way as screen the gate area without <br />interfering with its operation. The Director pointed out that the screening <br />standards for the Public District does not allow screening with meYal slats <br />
