MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 20,1999 <br />The City Engineer reviewed the assessment roll for the East Brooks <br />Avenue improvement. He indicated that the feasibility report estimate <br />was $95,040.56 and the estimated actual cost is $94,266.00. The Engineer <br />also explained the three payment options available to property owners. <br />There was no one from the general public present wishing to comment on <br />this matter. <br />Upon motion by Morelan, seconded by Scalze, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Mayor Fahey noted that no objections have been received to the <br />assessments for this improvement. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOl, UTION NO. 99-10-191-APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE <br />ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR IMPROVEMENT NO. 98-23, EAST <br />]3ROOKS AVENUE LYING BETWEEN MORRISONAVENUE AND <br />SAVAGE I,AND 73Y.STREET RECONSTRUCTION, CONCRETE <br />CURI3AND GUTTER, STORMSEWER, AND CONCRETE <br />DRIVEWAY TO I3E SPREAD OVER TEN YEARS AT .SE vEN <br />PERCENT INTEREST R,9TE <br />The fore~oing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (3) Scalze, Morelan, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />VIKING Mayor Fahey opened the public hearing to consider the assessment <br />DffiVE for the improvement of Viking Drive from McMenemy Road to <br />ASSESSMENT Edgerton Street by street reconstruction, concrete curb and gutter, concrete <br />driveway aprons, water main, and storm sewer. <br />The City En~ineer reviewed the assessment roll for this improvement. He <br />noted that the estimated cost contained in the feasibility report was <br />$782,051.29 while actual estimated costs are at $691,10.37. The Engineer <br />explained the three payment options that are available to property owners. <br />Vince Johnson asked about replacement of trees and plantings along <br />Viking Drive. The Public Works Director reported that the plantings will <br />be replaced in the spring since the City was unsuccessful in getting a <br />competitive bid to do the replacement this fall. <br />The City Engineer explained the City's assessment policy provides for <br />
