2. Passenger Vehicles <br />a. The parking of licensed, operable passenger vehicles in the front or side yard on a <br />driveway or parking pad is not considered exterior storage. <br />b. Passenger vehicles parked outdoors in the rear yard are considered exterior storage and <br />must meet the screening requirements of subsection (C), except where the rear yard is <br />accessed via an alley or private drive and serves as the primary driveway to a garage <br />or parking area. <br />c. The number of passenger vehicles parked outdoors must comply with the limits <br />established in Section 915.170. <br />3. Inoperable or Unlicensed Vehicles and Vehicle Parts <br />The outdoor parking or storage of inoperable or unlicensed vehicles, or of vehicle parts is <br />prohibited. <br />4. Commercial Vehicles <br />One commercial vehicle of Class 1, 2 or 3 may be parked or stored outside in a residential <br />district. Class 1, 2 and 3 vehicles are defined by the U.S. Department of Transportation . <br />This vehicle counts towards the limit to exterior parking established in Section 915.170. <br />5. Recreational Vehicles, Boats, Trailers, and Similar Vehicles <br />Recreational vehicles, boats, utility trailers, snowmobiles, all -terrain vehicles, and other <br />off-road vehicles may be stored outdoors or within partially enclosed accessory structures, <br />subject to the following : <br />a. One (1) in-season recreational vehicle or trailer may be parked in the front yard on a <br />driveway. Such parking is not considered exterior storage but must maintain a setback <br />of at least ten (10) feet from the front property line . <br />b. Recreational vehicles or trailers parked in the side or rear yard are considered exterior <br />storage and must comply with the screening requirements of subsection (C) of this <br />section. <br />c. Utility trailers containing building materials, landscaping equipment, or other work - <br />related items shall not be parked in a driveway or any unscreened location for more <br />than thirty (30) consecutive days. Trailers stored beyond this period must be emptied <br />and comply with all other provisions of this section, including applicable screening <br />requirements. <br />d. No more than two (2) recreation vehicles or trailers may be stored outdoors or within a <br />partially enclosed accessory structure on a residential property at any one time . <br />
