Yang indicated that there would be no <br /> pick-ups or deliveries to his home, therefore, no increase in traffic. <br /> Knudsen asked if it were possible that supplies would be delivered to <br /> Yang's home by mail or UPS. Yang anticipated that might be possible <br /> and felt he would he able to dictate the type of delivery method. Knudsen <br /> again asked about work volume. Yang replied that he anticipates one to <br /> two orders per week. <br /> Tony Xiong, Yang's brother-in-law, reported that acrylic and monomer <br /> are the supplies that would be needed to do this work. He a~~ticipated that <br /> a 25 Ib. supply would last six months to a year. The tools that are used in <br /> the work are small, hand-held tools. Knudsen asked if a heat supply was <br /> needed. Xiong replied that aii electric kiln unit is used. Knudsen asked <br /> where the work would be done. Xiong replied that Mr. Yang has a 9' by <br /> 14' room next to his garage that would be used for the home occupation. <br /> Knudsen asked if the room was properly vented. Xiong replied that it was. <br /> Everson asked if there would be any noise generated beyond the normal <br /> noise of a residential use. Xiong replied that there would not. Everson <br /> asked if there were any State or County permits required for this work. <br /> Xiong replied that no special permits are required. <br /> Fischer noted that monomer is highly flammable and asked if there would <br /> he special storage provisions as well as respiratory protections. Pechmann <br /> noted that he is a chemist, agreed that monomer is highly flanvnable, and <br /> suggested that a fire cabinet for storage of chemicals he used. Xiong <br /> noted that the product comes in a metal container. <br /> Everson suggested that the Fire Marshal review the home occupation <br /> request and make recommendations relative to the storage and handling of <br /> this product. Pechmann agreed, noting that the need for fire safety in the <br /> storage of chemicals. He also indicated that the Fire Department should <br /> be made aware of what is being stored on the properly in the event that <br /> they have to respond to a call at this house. <br /> Barraclough asked if any odors are emitted in processing these chemicals. <br /> Xiong replied that there were no odors. <br /> I'echmann asked about the acrylic being used. Xiong replied that it is <br /> dental acrylic. <br /> There was discussion about a review period for Special Use Permits, with <br /> the City Planner indicated that there is typically a one year review. If <br /> everything is fine at the one year review, there are administrative reviews <br /> -3- <br /> <br />
