MINUTIJS

CITY COUNCIL

.JANUARY 27, 2010
talked about constructing another building on the site going back to 2001
or 2002. Blesener stated that while he like the idea of rezoning the area to
PUD, he was not excited about allowing any more outdoor storage.
The Planner noted that Poolside is reacting to code enforcement actions on
his property and is looking for a way to phase-out these violations. The
Planner reported that he has informed Poolside that there is not guarantee
that the City would rezone the property to PUD nor allow outdoor storage.
McGraw noted the townhome development across from the property being
discussed, and indicated that he is hesitant to allow outdoor storage in this
area. Keis noted that under the B-3 Zone a nice office building could be
developed on the triatlgular property, which he felt would be a nice
addition to the area. The Planner agreed that an office building would be
the most likely option under the B-3 Gone. Keis also noted the adjacent
union building which is nicely maintained and landscaped. Keis did
agree, however, that PUD would give the City more options and control.
The Council discussed the suggestion of taking a look at this area in a
more comprehensive manner and agreed with the approach. The Council
also felt that the union hall property should be included given it is the only
other parcel in the area zoned B-3.
Mr. Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOL UTION NO. 2070-I -29 - CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING TO
CONSIDER THE REZONING OF THE TRIANGULAR PROPERTY
AT COUNTY ROAD C/JACKSON STREET/LITTLE CANADA ROAD
AS WELL AS THE TWO UNION HALL PROPERTIES TO PLANNED
UNIT DEVELOPMENT, WITH THIS PUBLIC HEARING TO BE
HELD AT THE SAME TIME AS A PUBLIC HEARING TO
CONSIDER THE REZONING OF THE POOLSIDE PROPERTY,
SHOULD POOLSIDE APPLY FOR REZONING
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw.
Ayes (4).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
2010 The City Administrator reviewed the 2010 Animal Control Contract
ANIMAL renewal highlighting that the only differences are some minor increases
CONTROL in some of the rates. "1'he Adminisriator noted that Animal Control is
CONTRACT the only viable option for the City at this time. However, the Sheriffls
Department Contract Group is beginning to explore future options should
Animal Control phase out their service.
9
