<br /> MINUTES <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> MARCH S, 2010 <br /> CANABURY On behalf of the entire Council, Keis thanked the Little Canada Fire <br /> SQUARE Department as well as the Roseville, Vadnais Heights, and Maplewood <br /> FIRE Fire Departments which provided mutual aid during the fire at the <br /> Canabury Square Condominiwn complex. He also offered sympathies to <br /> the family of the individual who lost their life in the fire. Keis stated that <br /> he was impressed with the professionalism azrd the efforts of the fire <br /> departments. <br /> The City Administrator noted that this fire is a good example of why fre <br /> walls are installed within a structure, noting that these fire walls contained <br /> the fire and prevented an even greater disaster. <br /> In response to an article in the Pioneer Press, the City Administrator <br /> reported that the City's Fire Marshal, along with Ramsey County officials, <br /> inspected several units at Canabury Square at the end of January. The unit <br /> where the fire originated was one of them. This unit was neat and orderly <br /> and there were no fire code violations in the unit. The Administrator <br /> reported that there were violations in some of the other units, acid there <br /> have been fire code violations at Canabury Square over the years. <br /> However, the City's Fire Marshal works to resolve those issues. "1'he <br /> Administrator reported this information was relayed to the reporter from <br /> the Pioneer Press. <br /> CONSENT Mr. Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> AGENDA <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2010-3-50 -APPROVING THE CONSENT <br /> AGENDA WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING: <br /> *APPROVING THE VOUCHERS; <br /> xDECLARING SUPPORT FOR FUNDING THE RECONSTRUCTION <br /> OF THE RICE STREET BRIDGE OVER I-694; <br /> ~•A UTHORIZING A GRANT APPLICATION FOR HANDICAPPED <br /> ACCESSIBLE DOORS AT THE CITY CENTER POLLING PLACE <br /> LOCATION; <br /> *DECLARING SUPPORT FOR THE AMERICAN FIBER SYSTEMS <br /> (AFS) GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OFA <br /> COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNITY NETWORK TO BENEFIT <br /> PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS IN THE NORTHEAST METRO AREA AS <br /> RECOMMENDED BY THE CITYADMINISTRATOR <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br /> Ayes (4). <br /> 2 <br /> <br />
