<br /> MINUTES <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> MARCH 24, 2010 <br /> Montour asked if there will be sidewalks on both sides of the street. <br /> Tolaas replied that there would be and described the striped bike lane as <br /> well as pedestrian walks along the street. Pedestrian walks will be 6 feet <br /> in width and will abut the street edge Bikers will have a designed 3 foot <br /> sri~ip on the roadway. <br /> The City Administrator noted the additional turn lane on County Road B-2 <br /> at Rice Street that is part of this project. There will also be some <br /> watermain looping in this area. The Administrator indicated that the <br /> project is on the fast track, and noted that it has been St. Jude's expansion <br /> that enabled this project to be expedited. The bridge replacement project <br /> will benefit St. Jude Medical as well as the entire northeast metro. <br /> The City Plaimer asked if the pedestrian-scale bridge Lighting will be <br /> carried all the way up Rice Street. Tolaas replied that it would not. He <br /> indicated that lighting of that type is typically owned and operated by the <br /> convnw~ity. The City Administrator repoi•Ced that there will be some <br /> lighting needed at intersections and there is ambient lighting along Rice <br /> Street.
