<br /> MINUTES <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> MARCH 24, 201.0 <br /> Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br /> CLOSED The City Administrator reconm2ended that the Council go into closed <br /> SESSION session at the end of the regular Council meeting to discuss the acquisition <br /> of easements and/or right-of--way from the BattisCa and Himmelbach <br /> properties as part of the Northeast Utility Extension Project. <br /> LAWFUL The City Clerk reviewed the Canadian Days Committee request that the <br /> GAMBLING Council allow the expansion of lawful gambliug into gas stations/ <br /> IN GAS convenience stores. The City Clerk reported that currently the City has <br /> STATION/ permitted lawful gambling at the Little Canada Bingo Hall and at various <br /> CONVENIENCE On-Sale Liquor sites, i.e. Brady's, Gordies, Hoggsbreath, and Saxon. The <br /> STORES Clerk repotted that in checking with the Gambling Control Board, the <br /> State does not limit the types of sites where lawful gambling can occur, <br /> and there are gas stations/convenience stores where pull-tab sales occur. <br /> These locations are Typically in greater Minnesota. "The Clerk also noted <br /> that lawful gambling includes bingo, raffles, tip board, pull-Tabs, and <br /> paddlewheels. <br /> McGraw asked there were any problems anticipated with lawful gambling <br /> in gas station convenience stores. The Clerk stated that one issue might be <br /> to ensure that there is a designated space for lawful gambling to occur as <br /> well as control measures in place. 1'he Clerk indicated that she would <br /> check with the State to determine if they have had any problems with <br /> lawful gambling in a gas station/convenience store location. A report will <br /> be presented at the April 14°i Council meeting. <br /> CLOSED The City Administrator requested that the Council go into closed <br /> SESSION session at the end of the regular Council meeting to discuss the acquisition <br /> of the Roseville Plumbing property as a future Public Works Garage site. <br /> ACQUISITION The City Administrator reported that the City had agreed to acquire four <br /> OF manufactured homes in Terrace Heights Mobilehome Par]< located along <br /> MANUFAC- County Road B-2 in order to facilitate the addition of a right-turn lane <br /> TURED HOME- along B-2 and relocation of our sidewalk The City Administrator <br /> 2442 RICE reported That the manufactured home on Lot A is available and he <br /> STREET, presented Bi11s of Sale for this acquisition. The first Bill of Sale is with <br /> LOT A David Pearson, the Lien holder on the home, in the amount of $1,600 and <br /> the second is with'I'imothy Dinneen, the owner, in the amount of $1,600 <br /> which will be remitted to Mr. Pearson to satisfy the lien on the home. The <br /> City Administrator reported that Mr. Dinneen actually owes more than the <br /> $1,600 on the home, but Mr. Pearson is willing to accept $1,600 in full <br /> 17 <br /> <br />
