Boss. Resolution declared adopted. <br /> LAWFUL The City Clerk reported that the Canadian Days Committee has requested <br /> GAMBLING that the Council allow lawful gambling in gas stations/convenience stores. <br /> IN GAS The Clerk noted that the City's Code does not prohibit lawful gambling in <br /> STATIONS/ those locations; however, past practice has been to limit premises permits <br /> CONVENIENCE for lawful gambling to on-sale liquor establishments and the Little Canada <br /> STORES Bingo Hall. <br /> The Clerk reported that she discussed gas station/convenience store <br /> gambling sites with the Gambling Control Board which indicated they <br /> have had no more issues or problems with these sites than any other sites. <br /> "the Clerk also reported that there are no gambling sites at gas <br /> stations/convenience stores in any of the sun~oundiug cities. <br /> Blesener questioned whether a lawful gambling site in a gas <br /> station/convenience store would be successful, but suggested a 6-month <br /> trial basis to sae if it is worth it for Canadian Days. The Clerk suggested <br /> that she discuss asix-month premises permit with tha Gambling Control <br /> Board to see if it would be workable. <br /> Keis stated that he has some concerns with lawful gambling at gas <br /> stations/convenience stores and noted that there are not a lot of these <br /> 10 <br /> <br />
