Resolution declared adopted.
2010 BUDGET Blesener reviewed the history relative to the Governor's actions to reduce
ADJUSTMENTS Local Government Aid (LGA) and Maa•ket Value Homestead Credits
(MVI-IC), and the City's resulting actions to modify its 2010 Budget and
begin planning for the 2011 Budget. Blesener noted that the Legislature
has now taken action which reduces the level of cuts that will be passed on
to cities. As a result, the City is able to back off on some of the more
minor Budget adjustments it was planning. Blesener noted, however, that
the State's budget is dependent on getting $400 million from the Federal
Government in health care aid. He further noted that the State Legislature
must have a balanced budget when it adjourns, and it will adjourn before
the Federal House and Senate adjourn. This timing could be problematic
for the State.
Blesener then reviewed the list of 2010 Budget adjustments as outlined in
the City Administrator's report dated April 23, 2010.
12
