<br /> apart, or in any manner change, or cause to be changed, or interfere with any such meter or the <br /> <br /> action thereof. <br /> (1) A service charge for installation in an amount established by City Council <br /> resolution to be made by customers for water meters and payment for the same <br /> shall be made in advance of installations. <br /> (2) Where a customer has need for a larger line in addition to his domestic line, as in <br /> the case of a coznanezcial consumer who needs a one inch line for normal use and <br /> a six or eight inch line for a fire sprinkler system, he will be permitted to run one <br /> line into the property and Y off into two lines prior to entering tite building. "I'he <br /> small or domestic line will have a curb stop and box shortly after the Y with easy <br /> access by City personnel, When this is done, a meter will be attached to the <br /> small or domestic line and a check va]ve as well as a 3/4 5!8-inch detection <br /> meter shall be put on the laz•ge line. <br /> (3) The City shall maintain and repair al( meters when rendered unserviceaUle <br /> through ordinary wear and tear and shall replace them, if necessary. Ilowever, <br /> where replacement, repair or adjustment of any meter is rendered necessary by <br /> the act, neglect, including damage from hot water backup, or carelessness of the <br /> owner or occupant of the premises, any expense caused tlae City thereby shall be <br /> charged against and collected from the water consumer. <br /> (4) A consumer may, by written request, have his meter tested, by depositing the <br /> amount established by City Council resolution with the Administrator. In case a <br /> test should show au error of over five (5%) percent of the wator consumed, dre <br /> deposit will be r©funded to the consumer, a correctly registering mctcr will be <br /> installed, and the bill will be adjusted accordingly if the meter erred in favor of <br /> the City.
