Holm indicated that he has now purchased the <br /> property and wants to continue to leasing outdoor storage space as well as <br /> add an additional outdoor storage in the northwest corner of the site for a <br /> building tena~it. Holm also noted that there is a~i office hailer on the site <br /> which he will be removing from the property. <br /> The City Planner reviewed the Code Enforcement Officer's September I, <br /> 2010 report outlining the two issues before the Commission. The first is <br /> to Amend the existing CUP for outdoor storage to allow the new building <br /> tenant outdoor storage in the northwest corner of the property. The second <br /> issue is the Re-issuance of an IUP to allow Mr. Holm to outdoor storage <br /> on this site for equipment related to his other Little Canada businesses. <br /> The City Planner noted that the initial one-year IUP has expired and Mr. <br /> Holm is requested reissuance for a five year period. <br /> The Commission discussed the Code Enforcement Officer's <br /> recommendation relative to screening. Holm noted that the landscape <br /> screening that was planted on the property is stunted, and agreed that he <br /> would replant with materials that would meet Code requirements. <br /> Fischer recommended approval of an Amendment to a Conditional Use <br /> Permit to allow outdoor storage for building tenants as well as Re-issuance <br /> of an Interim Use Permit for outdoor storage for off-site resident tenants <br /> for a five year period for 70 Woodlynn Avenue, DK Holm Properties, <br /> subject to compliance with the recommendations outlined in the Code <br /> Enforcement Officer's September 1, 2010 report and subject to Mr. Holm <br /> providing adequate screening. <br /> Motion seconded by Pechmann. <br /> Motion carried 7 - 0. <br /> AMEND The City Planner presented proposed Amendments to the '.honing Code <br /> ZONING COllE relative to the definition of garden shed as well as addressing pylon sign <br /> & MUNICIPAL height for properties in the vicinity of freeway intersections and an <br /> CODE -GARDEN Amendment to the Municipal Code relative to the definition of dog <br /> SHED, PYLON enclosure. Ile noted that these amendments are being proposed given <br /> SIGN HEIGHT, concern expressed relative to how garden sheds might be used, the <br /> ANll DOG pylon. sign height allowed for properties within 600 feet of a freeway <br /> ENCLOSURES intersection, and the need to define a dog enclosure to what is commonly <br /> considered to be a dog house. <br /> The Commission discussed the proposed la~iguage relative to requiring <br /> garden sheds to be constructed of materials and colors similar and/or <br /> -8- <br /> <br />
