MINUTES CITY COUNCIL MARCH 23, 2011 TO "OUTSIDE EMPLOYMENT ", "LEAVES WITH PAY ", AND "OVERTIME AND COMPENSATORY TIME" The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. COMMUNITY The City Administrator noted that one of the City's 2011 Goals is to SURVEY conduct a Community Survey in order to obtain taxpayer input relative to financial matters as the City prepared the 2012 Budget. The Administrator noted that the Council has begun working on the survey with Decision Resources. One of the survey components will be a ranking of City services. Peter Leatherman of Decision Resources has provided sample services listings used by other cities. The Administrator requested that the Council review these listings in order to develop one to be included in the City's survey. This information will then be provided to Decision Resources to finalize the survey draft. Staff is recommending that a workshop meeting be called for Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. to review and finalize that survey draft. The Council reviewed the services listings provided and developed a draft listing to be included in Little Canada's survey. This listing is as follows: Traffic Safety Police Protection Fire Response 911 Emergency Dispatch and Ambulance Service Animal Control (including deer, geese, etc.) Maintenance and Upkeep of City Parks and Trails Water and Sanitary Sewer Service Storm Water Drainage and Flood Control City Streets Repair and Maintenance Snowplowing — streets, sidewalks, trails Street Sweeping Drinking Water Street Lighting Lighting along Bicycle and Pedestrian Trails Recreation Programming (including senior citizen programming) Outdoor Ice Rinks Communications (including newsletter, Web site, social media) Garbage Collection Recycling Building Permits /Inspections Property Maintenance Enforcement Community Celebrations 5
