MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 27, 2011 <br />HOMETOWN Mayor Blesener announced that the Video "Planning Ahead: <br />VIDEO Preventing Theft from Auto" co- produced by Ramsey County Deputy <br />AWARDS John Eastham and Little Canada Cable TV Producer Kevin Helander, and <br />shot and edited by Ben Hanson of CTV North Suburban is a winner of a <br />Hometown Video Award by the Alliance for Community Media. Blesener <br />noted that Little Canada staff member Bryce Shearen also played the <br />victim in this video. Blesener congratulated those involved on this award. <br />He indicated that a link to the video is on the Sheriff's Office website at <br />www.co.ramsey.mn.us/ sheriff/crimepreventiontip.htm. <br />CANADIAN Blesener reminded everyone that this weekend is the annual Canadian <br />DAYS Days Celebration beginning Friday evening, July 29" and running through <br />Sunday, July 31'`. A schedule of events has been published in the <br />Roseville - Little Canada Review and is available on the Canadian Days <br />web site. <br />RAYMOND Blesener proclaimed Friday, July 29, 2011 as Raymond G. Hanson <br />G. HANSON Recognition Day noting Ray's involvement in Canadian Days since its <br />inception and the tremendous amount of volunteer work that Ray has done <br />for the City over the years. Blesener noted that Canadian Days has <br />purchased a permanent bench for Spooner Park and dedicated it in honor <br />of Ray. Ray Hanson thanked Canadian Days and the City for this honor. <br />AMENDMENT Blesener opened the Public Hearing to consider an Amendment to <br />TO PUD — Planned Unit Development Permit (PUD) to increase the number of days <br />3201 per week that the dock 86 store can be open. Blesener noted that the <br />COUNTRY request was to be open on Monday's. Both the City Planner and the <br />DRIVE — Planning commission recommended approval subject to the <br />DOCK 86 recommendations of the City Planner. <br />The City Planner reported that a few years ago a PUD permit was issued <br />to Dock 86 which spelled out the allowed uses of the building as well as <br />limited store hours. At the time the limited store hours were approved, the <br />bases for these hours was to ensure that the City would be able to manage <br />traffic on Country Drive given the proposed use was primarily retail in an <br />area that had primarily industrial and warehouse uses. <br />The Planner noted that Dock 86 is requesting to expand its days of <br />operation to add Mondays. They are currently open Fridays, Saturdays, <br />Sundays, and holiday Mondays. The Planner noted that since the time the <br />2 <br />
