3. Smoke Alan is <br />Minnesota State Fire Code 907.2.10.1.2 <br />a) There is no smoke alarm system in this unit therefore you are required to <br />install a smoke alarm on the ceiling outside each separate sleeping area in <br />the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms. <br />b) A smoke alarm shall be installed in each room used for sleeping purposes. <br />c) All smoke alarms shall be installed per manufactures installation <br />recommendations. <br />4. Structural Supports <br />The structural supports for window headers have been removed. This is a violation of <br />the Minnesota Building Code. You are required to contact a contactor to make <br />appropriate repairs with the proper permits and inspections. <br />The City of Little Canada will be pursuing action to correct the violations cited and <br />recover the cost of repairs. Municipal Code of Little Canada <br />601.080. ABATEMENT OF NUISANCE BY COUNCIL. If, after service of notice of <br />intent to abate nuisance, the person served fails to abate the nuisance or make the <br />necessary repairs, alterations or changes in accordance with the direction of the Code <br />Enforcement Officer, the City Council may cause such nuisance to be abated at the <br />expense of the City and recover such costs against the person or persons served. To cover <br />administrative costs necessarily incurred in the abatement and assessment procedure, an <br />administrative fee in the amount of not more than 25% of the cost to abate the nuisance <br />shall be imposed, except that in no event shall the administrative fee be less than $50.00. <br />As to any such costs, the City Council shall direct the City Administrator to extend such <br />sums as an assessment against the property upon which the nuisance existed and shall <br />certify the same to the Ramsey County Auditor for collection in the same manner as taxes <br />and special assessments are certified and collected. <br />This action will before the City Council on February 27, 2008 at 7:30 P.M in the <br />council chambers at city hall 515 E.
