NYFS Strategic Plan (2007 - 2012) c. Leadership at the Community Level We will continue to address critical issues essential for our communities in the future - especially those where our leadership will fill a gap or anticipate and prevent hardship. Over the next few years we see great challenges regarding the full inclusion and respect of all persons: • Based on ethnic heritage and mental and physical abilities • People new to our service area • Families with few economic resources We will also help build the capacity of our communities and partners by: • Sharing our knowledge and assets • Convening others for dialogue and innovation • Supporting the effective leadership of others in the area of youth and families • Being advocates for the needs and rights of all youth d. Effectiveness and Accountability We will continue to be the premier community -based service provider in the suburban Ramsey County area of the Twin Cities. Doing so requires us to stay current with our communities and how they are changing in terms of the use of technology, methods of communication, and cultural and other demographics. We will continue to hold ourselves accountable for making a difference in the lives of families and the quality of life of our communities. We will do so by ensuring: • Ongoing evaluation of our work • Continued open dialogue and feedback from our constituents • Use of best practice research in all our program design/methods (rather than rely on innovation and incubator /experimental models of service) • Regular measurement of our reputation and value in the communities we serve • Continuous effort for greater representation of our diverse community at all levels in the organization • Routinely informing stakeholders and the general public of our work and its results • Ensuring the use of technology as a method of communication, service delivery, and engagement We will also ensure the strength and viability of our organization through: • Prudent risk management • Financially sound budgeting and planning • Internal structures that support team work and cross departmental collaboration • Visionary planning to ensure the continuous delivery of quality and relevant services Core Values NYFS • Quality Services • Ethics and integrity in all that we do • Collaboration to fulfill our mission • Responsiveness to the broad community needs of diverse populations Center for Policy, Planning, and Performance 2 -13-
