NYFS Strategic flare (2007 -2012) <br />2. Broadly distribute and promote the research of other entities that relate directly to the <br />needs of youth and families especially in the areas of emerging and /or entrenched <br />issues that require community -wide awareness and response <br />3. Establish study and dialogue opportunities for understanding and addressing issues of <br />cultural/racial diversity and creating safe and caring places for youth of color <br />Goal 4: Improve Visibility and Reputation <br />1. Develop strong and effective fundraising message and materials <br />2. Develop a communications strategy that positions NYFS as an organization with <br />broad mission and integrated identity <br />3. Expand methods and frequency of communication and outreach efforts in order to <br />better reach primary customers in an age of electronic communication <br />4. Establish a baseline for all programs and then evaluate and communicate <br />effectiveness and results to stakeholders <br />5. Increase NYFS name recognition though marketing /communication initiatives related <br />to services, customers, and results <br />Goal 5: Invest in Organization Capacity <br />1. Develop and implement fundraising strategies that ensure community programs are <br />sustainable <br />2. Create mechanism for more engagement with friends /donors and supporters of NYFS <br />mission and expand individual contributions <br />3. Develop a fiscal investment plan and put policies in place that build reserves for <br />investment, maintains stability, and paves the way for a future endowment campaign <br />4. Create more collaboratively funded projects with private sector and /or other <br />community groups <br />5. Expand use of technology for fund raising /donors <br />Goal 6: Effective Strategic Plan Implementation <br />I. The Executive Committee will develop a policy and plan for executive leadership <br />transition and/or emergency by June 1, 2007 to include the following: <br />a. Desired /needed long term role and skills of Executive Director based on the <br />new strategic plan and goals <br />b. Update job description for Executive Director and Financial Director <br />c. Determine structure for how fundraising leadership will be provided (i.e. <br />Executive Director, Associate Director etc.) <br />d. Establish a budget for executive director search and /or other executive <br />transition needs <br />2. Ensure effective implementation of the strategic plan through budgeting, planning, <br />evaluation, organization structure, and board decision - making and regular review and <br />updates on performance and progress on goals <br />3. Hire and monitor a new Executive Director who can ensure ongoing organization <br />effectiveness and achievement of the plan <br />Center for Policy, Planning, and Performance 4 <br />- 1 5 - <br />
