(LEGEND) is pleased to provide this <br />proposal to perform destructive sampling for asbestos in the buildings located at 85 <br />Viking Drive, 91 Viking Drive, and 2250 Rice Street, Little Canada, Minnesota. In <br />addition to the asbestos sampling, LEGEND will document materials in and on the parcel <br />that are considered as regulated wastes which are required to be removed prior to <br />demolition and will collect samples of paints fowid in a deteriorated state. <br />2.0 SCOPE OF NCORK <br />The scope of ork we propose to perform is as follows: <br />2.1 Desut,ctive Asbestos Samp� <br />Sample :s will be collected of materials suspected of containing asbestos within an <br />on the I,uildings. The sampling will be destructive (walls, ceilings openedlup to <br />look for concealed materials) as required prior to demolition of buildings. <br />Analy:.is for the presence of asbestos fibers in bulk samples is performed using <br />polarised light microscopy (PLM) and dispersion staining techniques. The <br />analysis was performed using and Olympus WISP microscope at 40- 200X <br />magnification in accordance with current U.S. Environmental Protection Agency <br />(USEPA) protocols, "Method for the Determination of Asbestos in Bulk Building <br />Materii ils ", EPA 600/R- 93/I16, 1993. <br />
