7. INSURANCE. <br />— --- NCE The City will pay the cost of hospital and medical insurance for <br />Hanson and dependents. The City will pay the premium of Hanson's hospital and <br />medical insurance premium. The City will provide Hanson the same group life <br />insurance coverage that is provided to all other City employees. The City <br />further agrees to provide Hanson with long -term disability coverage effective <br />January 1, 1990 in the same amount as provided to Other employees. <br />8. DUES AND SUBSCRIPTIONS. The City agrees to budget and <br />y g g pay the <br />professional dues and subscriptions for Hanson which are necessary for his <br />continued participation in national, regional, state and local associations necessary <br />and desirable for his continued professional participation, growth and <br />advancement and for the good of the City. <br />9. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. The City agrees to budget and to pay the <br />travel and subsistence expenses of Hanson for professional and official travel for <br />meetings and occasions adequate to continue the professional development of <br />Hanson and to adequately pursue necessary official and other committees thereof <br />which employee serves as a member. Hanson will use good judgement in his <br />outside activities so he will not neglect his primary duties to the City. Some of <br />the seminars Hanson expects to attend include, but are not limited to, the <br />following: International City Management Association, League of Minnesota Cities <br />and the Minnesota City Management Association Conference. Hanson will be <br />permitted to attend the 1990 ICMA Annual Conference and an evaluation report <br />describing the benefits of the conference shall be provided to the City Council. <br />Thereafter, Hanson shall attend the ICMA Annual Conference biannually (at a <br />minimum) or annually per the approval of Council. <br />-10- <br />
