could assess an even higher number to the Nature Way homes but staff chose a different method to assess the development. ➢ It was asked if the price of the project would go down if there were no curb from Nature Way to County Road B2. Mr. Elfering responded that the cost would stay virtually the same since the project reaches the assessment cap without the curb. ➢ A question was asked regarding when Viking Dr. last received significant work. The City Administrator replied that it was his recollection that Viking received a 1.25" overlay around 1994. MNDOT turned the road back to the City and the City insisted that the State reconstruct it before we accepted it. The State disagreed and, eventually, both parties agreed to overlay the surface. ➢ It was asked if there were any plans for a trail or sidewalk as part of the improvements. Mr. Elfering answered that a sidewalk was not in the plans currently but he would look into it if there was enough interest. The City Administrator added that the City likes to maintain on- street trails on its wider roads. ➢ A comment was made that a lot of people walk in that area and there is going to be an accident sooner or later. It was also stated that the lighting is poor along Viking Dr. The City Administrator responded by saying the City would look into the possibilities of an off - street trail for Viking Dr. ➢ A comment was made that cars traveling eastbound on Viking drive very fast at the west end of Viking near the hills and curves and it makes for a very dangerous situation. The City Administrator stated that staff would contact the Sheriff's Dept. and have them patrol the area and put up a speed board. ➢ It was asked what would become of the driveway that tuns north from Aero Drapery to Mautz Paint and exits on Minnesota. Mr. Elfering responded that was on private property and would not be impacted by the project. ➢ At this point a poll was taken of those present regarding whether or not they would like to see the project move forward. Eight residents supported the project and no hands were raised against the project. ➢ Two members of St. Jude then spoke of their objection to the project. They commented that from their perspective they didn't feel it would benefit their property enough to warrant reconstruction since the majority of their traffic enters the complex off of County Road B2. They were assessed for the B2 project two years ago and thought it was too soon to be assessed again. They
