c. Frequency. Yard Waste Collection Service shall be provided from April <br />15` through November 30th each year and each residential dwelling unit <br />shall have its yard waste collected a minimum of once per week on the <br />same day as refuse collection service. <br />d. Reporting. Tonnages or yards of yard waste collected shall be reported to <br />the City on a bi- annual basis. <br />e. Conveyance of Yard Waste. The Contractor shall be responsible for the <br />safe, legal, and environmentally sound conveyance of all yard waste <br />collected under this Contract. The Contractor shall convey the yard <br />waste to a lawfully approved compost site and shall assume all liability <br />and responsibility for materials deposited. The Contractor shall not mix <br />other types of refuse or inorganic materials with the yard waste or take <br />any action so as to make the yard waste material unacceptable to the <br />operators of the compost site. <br />f Notification. If any resident of the City places yard waste out for pickup <br />and the material is not taken by the Contractor, the Contractor shall <br />provide immediate written notification to the resident of reason(s) for <br />refusal to pick up the item. Notification must be left on the item(s) in <br />question. <br />g. <br />Education. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to assist in the <br />education of residents on how to properly prepare yard waste. <br />Contractor will work with City staff on a quarterly basis to prepare <br />written materials for residents. <br />3. Recycling Collection. <br />a. Description. Recyclable collections sery ice shall include the collection of <br />recyclables as defined in this contract. Cost for this service is described <br />in Attachment "A ". <br />b. Containers. The Contractor shall supply all residential dwelling units <br />eligible to participate in the recycling program with a single sort <br />recycling container on wheels, for the storage and collection of <br />recyclable materials. In the case of Gene's Disposal customers, the <br />contractor shall provide suitable recycling container for two -sort <br />collection. <br />c. Single Sort System. Residents will be instructed to place all recyclable <br />materials, listed in the definitions section, into the single sort container. <br />-6- <br />-7 <br />
