Duties
The following section of this plan will describe the basic duties expected to be performed by the
employees and designated staff. The primary duty of staff at the business is to ensure the safety of
customers, employees, and property and report suspected crime. The following duties exist to best
assure that objective. The main policy is to not escalate a tense situation.

Door Security
Once a shift begins staff is responsible for who is in the establishment. It is the policy of the business
that no one under the legal drinking age of twenty-one years is served alcohol. Patrons who appear to
have been drinking at another establishment will not be served alcohol and other patron’s will not be
over served. If a patron wants to walk in clearly intoxicated, he/she will be denied entry or the sale of
alcohol. Staff will rely on their training to detect these patrons. Moreover, all staff and management
shall make it a point to always observe the dining area to become familiar with the clients, who comes in
and who goes out. Who does not belong here? No loitering will be allowed.
Staff is responsible for assuring that patrons who enter the business will enjoy the experience, the food
and the atmosphere. The most effective procedure for insuring this is to be near the door greeting
patrons as they enter. Staff will observe the demeanor of the entering patron and whether he/she may
be concealing an object. Staff will notify the manager and or call Little Canada police if it appears the
patron may be concealing an object.
The Staff person working as a greeter at the restaurant should have in their possession the handbook of
all state’s licenses. This handbook is also behind the cashier station and should be returned there at the
end of the shift. Staff will ask for id from every patron under 30 years of age as a condition for
purchasing Alcohol. If a person is uncooperative, staff will log in that person’s name on his or her ousted
book and ask the person to please leave. If they refuse the staff will call the Police.
Staff will constantly monitor the bathrooms located near the rear exit and bathrooms. Staff is
responsible for assuring that all patrons inside abide by the legal drinking age regulation and will be
subject to termination for failing to insure said regulations are met. Staff allowing minors to enter and
consume alcohol will be fired and the local Police precinct will also be notified. Staff can also ask patrons
to show the contents of their purses or pockets if suspicious upon entering the business. If a patron
refuses to show those contents the patron will be informed that it is a condition of entry. If a patron
refuses, entry will be denied and management will ask them to leave the business.
If staff needs to have a recess or a bathroom break, staff will notify the owner/manager and one of them
will cover the floor or find another server to fill in while staff is away from the floor. The point is that
the floor will always be monitored.
