Staff will assure that the hall ways are never blocked or obstructed in the event of an emergency <br />evacuation. For example, the isles must always be clear. Staff is also required to monitor the <br />bathrooms and the rear door. Staff will pay more attention to this area. This is for entry and exiting only. <br />No loitering or beer will be allowed in this area. <br />Staff will monitor the front sidewalk and the rear parking adjacent to the restaurant to make sure no <br />one is drinking in vehicles or playing loud music. Staff will ask these people to leave. <br />Unruly Patrons <br />Moreover, other duties are preventing offensive behavior of patrons; arranging tables appropriately on <br />a nightly basis; preventing vandalism (especially in bathrooms); preventing illegal substance use on <br />establishment's property; and maintaining a secure and safe feeling for all persons inside the business. <br />Staff will also monitor patrons who go outside to smoke. These patrons will be directed to stand by the <br />side walk so as not to block the windows or the front door. No alcohol is to leave the premises under <br />any circumstance. As a condition of buying alcohol the patron shall buy food offered in the menu. <br />Staff is to politely ask a patron to leave if the customer becomes unruly. If the patron does not <br />cooperate, tell the patron that they must leave. If the person does not co-operate staff will call 911 and <br />take any drink the patron may be in possession of and attempt to assist the patron to the front door. If <br />the patron does not co-operate, staff will inform patron that staff will have to remove said patron from <br />the business using the necessary force or call the police. <br /> Staff is to do whatever is necessary to remove a patron from the establishment while causing minimal <br />disruption to the other patrons of the business. Staff is not to cause physical harm to any patron, unless <br />the physical well-being of any customer, employee, or property of the business is in imminent danger of <br />physical harm or damage. In the case of a patron that is unruly and difficult, the local police will be <br />called for assistance but in no case before police arrive will staff permit any harm or damage to anyone <br />or property to occur. Staff will act friendly, courteous, non-combative as much as possible. Staff is to <br />use any reasonable force under the circumstances necessary to protect their own personal safety or that <br />of a customer and to identify and hold the persons involved until police arrive. <br />Smoking <br />Under current laws, patrons of this establishment are prohibited from smoking indoors. All smoking <br />must take place outside the walls of the business. Additionally, patrons are not permitted to bring <br />alcohol outside of the business and should be made aware of this policy before they leave the <br />restaurant. Patrons may not remove alcohol from the business area and take it to the sidewalk or <br />parking areas or vehicle. <br /> Closing Duties <br />Staff is responsible for assuring that all patrons in the business are exited in a timely manner at the end <br />of the business night. It is the policy of the business that patrons are asked to exit the establishment <br />shortly before closing time if they are not eating. Additionally, staff announces the last call 30 minutes <br />from closing time and turn down any music. Staff should verify the last call with a manager. Food <br />service shall stop about 45 minutes from closing.
