Further, when comparing with <br />the highest city quarterly water bill (Arden Hills $99.65), Little Canada charges 39% less for its water. <br /> <br />The average winter water bill for all six cities is $95.00. Little Canada charges 32.74% less for its <br />winter water when compared to the average bill. Similar percentages are noted when analyzing the <br />summer water bill. <br /> <br />Conclusion: <br />Higher water rates are projected mainly due to larger wholesale water rate increases by SPRWS, resulting <br />from the construction of the McCarrons Treatment Plant, as well as increases related to operating costs <br />(e.g., personnel costs, insurance costs) and capital expenditures. A detailed presentation of the Utility <br />funds was done by city staff at the September 3rd council workshop. The above rates would need to be <br />evaluated every year to align with the most current projections for operating expenditures and capital <br />infrastructure needs. <br /> <br />SEWER RATES PROJECTIONS: <br />The 2025 to 2026 Municipal Wastewater Charge is increasing by 5.05%.
