Special Events <br />Meeting the community face-to-face is an essential aspect of project engagement. City staff had their <br />boots on the ground for engagements throughout the year. The city hosts an annual ice cream social, <br />which was held on July 31, 2025. During the event, city staff had conversations with community members <br />about desired community amenities for the future community gathering space. Canadian Days is an <br />annual community festival that is held the last week in July/the first weekend in August. The event is <br />the community’s largest “get-together.” Canadian Days was held August 1-3, 2025. During this event, <br />city partners engaged with community members about their desires and concerns regarding the future <br />community building <br />Engagement at Ice Cream Social Event 07/31/25 <br />Key takeaways from the community at these events were: <br />• A space for youth and adult programming is needed in our community <br />• There is a need for rental space larger than what Little Canada currently has <br />• An indoor space for community events is needed <br />• There is some concern about financing and how expensive a building would be <br />City Engagement Tables at Special Events <br />City of Little Canada Technical Advisory Committee Final Report 17
