49 <br /> <br />City of Little Canada Personnel Policy <br /> SECTION 20 - OTHER INFORMATION <br /> <br />Copy Machine Use <br /> <br />All employees of the City are afforded the use of City copy machines for personal matters, at cost. <br />Personal copying shall not conflict with City business. <br /> <br />Equipment and Machinery Care <br /> <br />A. Every employee who has occasion to operate a municipal vehicle, machinery, or office <br />equipment is charged with the responsibility of routine and normal maintenance for the piece of <br />equipment they are operating. <br /> <br />B. All defects in any piece of equipment must be called immediately to the attention of the <br />supervisor. <br /> <br />C. Failure to properly care for municipal equipment shall be cause for disciplinary action being <br />taken. <br /> <br />Falsification and Destruction of Records <br /> <br />A. Falsification of any public records, including personnel records, is unlawful. <br /> <br />B. Any contemplated destruction or disposition of public records shall be consistent with the <br />adopted records retention schedule. <br /> <br />Keys and Other Equipment <br /> <br />A. Every employee and Elected Official who has authorized possession of any key, electronic <br />building access, tools or other equipment on a full-time basis must register his/her name and the <br />serial number of the key, if applicable, or other equipment with the supervisor or assigned <br />personnel. <br /> <br />B. All such equipment must be turned in and accounted for by any employee who terminates <br />his/her services with the City or Elected Official at the end of their elected term. <br /> <br />C. Every employee and Elected Official shall be responsible for the safekeeping and care of all <br />such equipment. All expenses incurred by the loss of such equipment shall be borne by the <br />employee or Elected Official. <br /> <br />D. The duplication by a locksmith or other person of keys, openings, structures, or equipment <br />owned by the City is prohibited unless authorized by the City Administrator or supervisor. Any <br />employee found having an unauthorized duplicate key will be subject to disciplinary action. <br /> <br />News Releases <br /> <br />A. News releases concerning municipal affairs are the responsibility of the City Administrator. <br /> <br />B. News releases concerning City personnel shall be the responsibility of the City Administrator.
