1 <br /> <br />City of Little Canada Personnel Policy <br /> SECTION 1 - INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />It is the purpose of this personnel policy to establish uniform and equitable procedures that will permit <br />the personnel program of the City of Little Canada (referred to as the “City” throughout) to operate in <br />an efficient fashion. Employees should read this personnel policy and become familiar with the <br />content. <br /> <br />This personnel policy is not a contract of employment. It does not promise or guarantee any particular <br />benefit or specific action. Any term and/or condition of employment not specifically established in the <br />personnel policy shall remain solely within the discretion of the City to modify, establish, or eliminate. <br />The City retains the full and unrestricted right to operate and manage all manpower of the workforce, <br />facilities, and equipment; to establish functions and programs; to set and amend budgets; to determine <br />the utilization of technology; to establish and modify the organizational structure; to select, direct and <br />determine the number of personnel; to establish work schedules, and to perform any inherent <br />managerial function not specifically referred to in this personnel policy. Any employee included in a <br />collective bargaining agreement entered into in accordance with the Public Employment Labor <br />Relations Act (Minn. Stat. Sections 179A.01 to 179A.25) shall be exempt from any provision to this <br />personnel policy that is inconsistent with such agreement. <br /> <br />No provision of this policy is intended to violate, supersede or conflict with any applicable Federal law <br />or regulation, State statute or local ordinance. In the event of conflict or violation of any such <br />regulation, the offending provision of this chapter will be void, but all remaining provisions will <br />remain in effect. <br /> <br />No person shall be discriminated against with reference to City employment in any way forbidden by <br />Federal or State law. <br /> <br />Equal Employment Opportunity <br /> <br />The City of Little Canada does not discriminate on the basis of disability status in the admission or <br />access to, or treatment or employment in, its programs or activities.
