CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN INTERIM ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A MORATORIUM ON THE ISSUANCE OF <br />PERMITS FOR ADVERTISING DEVICES IN ADJACENT AREAS, ADJACENT TO THE <br />RIGHT -OF -WAY OF AN INTERSTATE OR TRUNK HIGHWAY, AS DEFINED IN MINN. <br />STAT. §173.02, WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA. <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE CANADA HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. <br />An Interim Ordinance establishing a moratorium relating to certain property within the <br />City of Little Canada. <br />(A) Purpose and Intent. The City of Little Canada has adopted a Comprehensive Plan <br />and Official Controls, pursuant to Minn. Stat. § §462.351 to 462.354, and the Little Canada City <br />Council has authorized staff to conduct a study and to analyze existing uses, proposed uses, and <br />existing zoning of the property described below within the City of Little Canada, for the purpose <br />of considering amendments to the Comprehensive Plan or Official Controls relating to the <br />property described below. <br />(B) Pursuant to Minn. Stat. §462.355, subd. 4, this interim ordinance, for the purpose of <br />protecting the planning process and the health, safety, and welfare of Little Canada citizens, <br />hereby prohibits the issuance of permits for advertising devices in adjacent areas, adjacent to the <br />right -of -way of an interstate or trunk highway, as defined in Minn. Stat. § 173.02, within the City <br />of Little Canada. <br />(C) This interim ordinance establishes a moratorium, as provided herein, which shall <br />expire on , if not extended or repealed prior to that time. <br />PASSED by the City Council of Little Canada this day of , 2005. <br />ATTEST: <br />William Blesener, Mayor <br />Ayes- <br />Joel R.
