Hanson <br />The following construction project update is provided for your information. The projects listed are either in <br />Little Canada or will impact our city. If you have any questions on any of these projects, please call me at <br />651 -766 -4049. <br />MNDOT Projects: <br />Edgerton Street Bridge over I- 694/I -35E — This project has been separated into two projects 1) the bridge <br />replacement over the interstate and 2) the approaches to the bridge. The bridge removal and <br />replacement project was bid on February 25, 2004. Worlc was to start on April 12, 2004. However, <br />this project has been delayed about 3 months due to steel fabrication delays. This delay will result <br />in the work not starting until the middle to end of June 2004. Thus, this road will be closed all <br />winter and the bridge project being completed in the spring of 2005. The bridge approaches project <br />design is 95% complete and is on schedule for a July 23, 2004 bid date. However, this project may <br />also be delayed based on the bridge replacement steel schedule. Once the bridge project starts (June <br />2004) they will detour traffic along LaBore Road so we will see increased traffic in this section of <br />the City until the spring of 2005. <br />Replace Lighting System at TH 36/I -35E — The existing lighting system at this intersection is to be <br />replaced with new lights similar to the existing lights. This project is scheduled for bid opening on <br />March 26, 2004, with work starting in May 2004. Minor impacts to traffic will result from this <br />project. <br />Paint TH 36 Bridges under CP Rail, Edgerton Street, and Arcade Street — These three bridges are <br />scheduled to be painted this year. This project is scheduled for bid opening April 23, 2004, with the <br />painting to start in July 2004 and be completed in August 2004. <br />\GrcgS \Correspondence\Greg S 2004 \Area Construction Project Update.doc <br />
