Owasso Blvd.
Little Canada, MN 55117
Dear Chris:
MAYOR
Mad el t. Fahey
COUNCIL
Jim LaVaile
Matt .Anderson
Rick Montour
Bill Blesener
ADMMINESTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
I inspected the site yesterday to ensure compliance with the September 27 deadline the
City Council gave Precision Tree. It was noted that you had removed quite a bit of wood
being stored on the site and the semi trailer. However in reviewing the site, I wanted to
make you aware of the items listed below that still need to be addressed:
r I verified the paved outdoor storage area size. When I did the report on July 28,
2004, I was using the measurements off the original site plan. That site plan
showed the 1,400 square feet paved, which again left you 2,350 feet. Yesterday it
was verified that you have already created the 3,750 square foot paved surface for
outdoor storage. The outdoor storage area is not completed because of screening,
but again the area is currently at the maximum allowed. Some of the items stored
in the designated area go slightly out of the area, but this matter will be corrected
once the screening/fencing is installed. I have also included with this letter the
city council minutes and planners report that confirm the outdoor storage needs to
be paved as requested.
r There was one truck parked along the side of the lot by the fuel tanks. Again,
trucks and equipment needs to be stored in the designated area.
r The woodpile at the end of driveway has been removed. There were only a few
logs by the fuel tanks. However, the pile by the alternative heat source still
remained. During our meeting September 21, we discussed possible options for
eliminating the nuisance created by the heat source. At that time, you indicated
you may need to start the heat source for 2 -3 hours to test the emissions level.
Given your efforts to try and correct this, staff agreed that you could start the heat
source a couple of times for short periods to test emissions (not continuously
running). The heat source may not be used to provide heat to the building. You
- 1 4 -
