and Mr. Bruhn will report back to us as soon as possible as to whether there are
any viable options to eliminate the odors associated with the wood burning heat
source.
i Along the south and west property line Precision Tree had spread woodchips as a
foini of turf Precision Tree has been told that this is not turf and would need to
be removed. Appropriate turf must then be established. Yesterday, the
woodchips still remained around the site. No turf has yet been established in
either of those areas, nor along the front western portion of the lot.
- There was still fencing laying in the woods and some metal debris along the west
property line. This would need to be removed.
Precision Tree has also established a woodchip pile in the woods along the west
property line. Again, you do not have approval for wood or woodchip piles. This
needs to be cleaned up and removed from the property.
Staff is also aware that Precision Tree had an intention of planting the trees laying
along the woods in the northwest side of the property. Yesterday, it appeared
that some of the trees were not in good shape. Staff would ask that Precision Tree
either plant these trees in a reasonable amount of time or remove them from the
lot.
Additionally I have put together the information given to us from Central Boiler. In
looking back at my notes, I talked with Rick at the main office. This was the contact
person that Mac gave us and directed us to call. In talking with Rick I confirmed that the
blower was standard on the heat source. I also discussed smoke stack height and possible
filter options. He indicated to me that there were no filter options that Central Boiler
offered for the smoke stack. I also called the dealer the heater was purchased from.
Dave confirmed the stack height, blower feature, and that no filter is available.
If you have any other questions please let me Icnow. Staff will be putting together a
report for the City Council for the October 13 meeting. If you have any information you
would like to submit on your behalf please have that into city offices by noon on
Thursday, October 7.
Sincerely,
Je si Ja•.oe
Code En orcememt Officer
- 1 5 -
