MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 16, 2008
died in the future from the impact of the road reconstruction, the City
would be agreeable to taking these trees down. An agreement between the
City and the Zoch's would be put in place to address these issues.
Marcel "Loch asked about the north side of his driveway. Blesener
indicated that many of these questions cannot be answered this evening
since the project has not been designed. If the improvement is ordered,
the City Engineer would design the project and review that design with the
Zoch's.
Don Gagne indicated that Condit Street south of Nadeau Road is in good
condition as is the curbing. Gagne did not believe it was feasible to widen
this portion of the road, and pointed out that two vehicles can pass on the
street. He noted that there is no parking on this section of street. Gagne
felt that this section of Condit Street only needed to be sealcoated.
The City Engineer agreed that Condit Street south of Nadeau Road was in
better condition than the rest of Condit. However, the pavement rating
still puts it into the reconstruction category.
Gagne suggested that Condit Street south of Nadeau Road be
reconstructed at the time that Burke Lane is reconstructed. The City
Administrator indicated that there will be an issue as to where to start and
stop the project if Condit north of Nadeau Road is reconstructed.
However, he agreed that Condit south of Nadeau Road could be combined
with a future Burke Lane reconstruction.
Nancy Walstead asked if a study had been done determining how many
vehicles use Condit Street each day. The City Engineer indicated that a
study has not been done, but the general rule is ten vehicle trips per house
per day. The Engineer also noted that there are a few options for getting
out of this area.
Walstead pointed out that there are only three houses on Condit Street.
The City Engineer agreed only three houses are directly on the street, but
Condit Street is used by the property owners on Burke Lane, Concetta
Way, Nadeau Road, and Yorkton Ridge. Elaine Zoch estimated that only
10 to 15 cars drive by her house each day.
John Anish, Yorkton Ridge, pointed out the hydrant locations along
Condit, and asked if it is intended to align the road with the hydrants.
Anish felt that Condit Street did not need reconshuction, and felt that
resurfacing would be adequate. Anish noted that the street drains, there is
no on-street parking, therefore, the limited width is not a problem, and the
property owners do not want the improvement. Anish stated that he did
not want I-901easing to his house. If the road is reconstructed, Anish felt
7
