Agreement 1. Purpose: This document is to be considered an Agreement between the City of Little Canada, Minnesota (hereinafter referred to as "Little Canada ") and the City of Falcon Heights, Minnesota (hereinafter referred to as "Falcon Heights "). It is the intent of Little Canada and Falcon Heights to work cooperatively to provide building inspection and fire marshal services for their respective communities. The purpose of this document is to set forth the terms and conditions for the provision of building inspection and fire marshal services to be provided to Falcon Heights by Little Canada. This Agreement will be in effect from this 1st day of January 2003 until terminated by either party under the provisions set forth. 2. Services Provided: It is agreed upon by both parties that the intent is to share the services of a Building Official position (hereinafter referred to as the "Building Official "). Falcon Heights and Little Canada officials will participate jointly in the interviewing of applicants and hiring of the Building Official; including future replacements for this position if necessary. Furtheuuore, it is understood that Little Canada will employ the person selected for the purpose of providing building inspection and fire marshal services to both parties in accordance with the following: a. The Building Official will be considered a regular employee of Little Canada, and Little Canada will provide salary, benefits, and training to the Building Official. Compensation and benefits for the Building Official shall be determined by Little Canada in a manner consistent with their compensation program and at their sole discretion. b. The Building Official's employment relationship with Little Canada shall be subject to an employment agreement. A copy of the initial employment agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit A. Little Canada shall provide Falcon Heights with documentation regarding any modifications to this document within thirty (30) days of their approval by the Little Canada City Council. c. The Building Official will be under the direct supervision of the Little Canada City Administrator for the purpose of perfomtance review and any discipline related issues. It is understood that while the Building Inspector is providing services for Falcon Heights, the Building Inspector will be under the work direction of Falcon Heights City Administrator. Falcon Heights shall notify Little Canada of any and all complaints about the services rendered by the Building Official and cooperate in the documentation, investigation and resolution of the same in any manner.
