Install and Pump From Well
6" well, pump, motor, pitless adapter $24,000
Meter pit and piping $5,000
Rock Swale $3,000
Controls $8,000
Total $40,000
Total Cost per Year ($40,000 over 10 years) $4,000
From the above, it can be concluded that pumping from a well is the least labor intensive
however, it is also the most expensive alternative. The best cost alternative for the city is
pumping Round Lake water into the pond.
Based on the above it is requested that the City Council authorize staff purchase and install
a pumping system that will be able to pump water from Round Lake to the pond at an
initial cost of approximately $7,000 and operate as needed to maintain the pond water level.
H: \GregS \Round Lake Costs3.doc
