N'IlNUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST l4, 2002 <br />Duane Stroman, Stroman Construction, reported that Poolside is agreeable <br />to the City Administrator's recommendation, Re also noted that Poolside <br />has revised their architectural plans in response to recommendations made <br />by the Planning Commission. It was also noted that Xeel Energy has <br />begun the process of moving the electrical service from the City's <br />manhole on County Road C <br />Council reviewed the three options outlined in the Administrator's report <br />For truck traffic access to the Poolside site. These include: <br />• Extend Jackson to County Road C and improve to current design <br />standards. <br />• Create another access point to County Road C within Poolside's <br />property using the parking land on the west side of the building as <br />alignment. <br />• Improve existing Jackson Street to commercial (9 -ton) standards. <br />It was noted that stairs recommendation includes the following: <br />• Change the designation of Jackson Street to 5 -ton, post the road, <br />and actively enforce this limitation during the road - posting season. <br />• Initiate a neighborhood meeting this fall to discuss improvement to <br />Jackson Street in the 2003 improvement cycle_ <br />• Allow Poolside to continue to use Jackson Street subject to no <br />parking occurring on street, subject to 5 -ton weight restrictions <br />during the posting season, and subject to their written <br />acknowledgement to donate 20 feet of additional road easement <br />from their north property line to the south end or their access <br />opening. <br />Fahey asked about the feasibility of an additional access to County Road C <br />given the grade differences. The Public Works Director responded that <br />while the grade is steep, it is feasible to brim in another access to County <br />Road C on the west side of the building_ <br />Montour asked if the cornice treatments recommended by the Planning <br />Commission on the new addition would be carried over onto the existing <br />building. Stroman replied that the same concrete and same color used for <br />the existing building will be used on the addition. Stroman reported that <br />there is currently wood fascia on the existing building, and it would be <br />Poolside's plan to cover that vvood with an aluminum material. He noted <br />2 <br />
