CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 25, 2026 <br />Mayor Fischer recognized that there are a lot of people with goodwill in the community. He stated that <br />often an in -person ask goes a long way. He stated that he would assist with asking businesses or multi- <br />family communities to participate. <br />Kwapick stated that he was happy to see the school engagement and encouraged staff to reach out to <br />local high schools, as there could be an overlap with some of the civics classes and requirements for <br />service hours for certain organizations. <br />Malone commented that this is a fantastic initiative, as there will always be litter. She noted that more <br />awareness and participation could help to decrease the amount of litter as well. <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR LOGO AND BRAND REFRESH DESIGN SERVICES <br />The Assistant City Administrator stated that this is another action item within the Strategic Plan. She <br />provided background on the current City logo and explained that this request would not change the <br />logo but would modernize the font and provide a complementary branding. She recognized the <br />coordination that would occur between this consultant and the consultant working to update the <br />website. She reviewed the scope of the request for proposals and recommended approval by the City <br />Council. <br />Mayor Fischer recognized that this is important work and the importance of branding and consistency <br />in communications. <br />Miller recognized that this effort would not change the logo. He asked if the signs would be reviewed <br />for proper/improper use and whether vehicle branding would need to be updated. The Assistant City <br />Administrator explained that they would implement the new logo as they go forward, providing new <br />branding on new equipment. She stated that because the logo itself will not be changed, she did not <br />see a reason to retrofit the existing brands. <br />Miller recognized the efforts of the Parks Commission with branding and asked how this would impact <br />park signs. He asked if the logo had been copyrighted. The Parks and Recreation Director commented <br />that they will continue to use new branding as new signs are added. <br />The City Administrator stated that the park's signs use the logo, so he did not believe that would need <br />to be updated. The Assistant City Administrator stated that the park's logos are separate and would <br />continue to be approved as they go. She noted that there are rules for who can and cannot use the City <br />logo. <br />Malone asked and received confirmation that the accent color palettes would be part of the brand. The <br />Assistant City Administrator confirmed that it would be part of the branding work.. She stated that the <br />consultant will provide assistance in choosing the colors that would work best for the website and for <br />accessibility. <br />Mayor Fischer agreed it would be worth it to discuss copyrighting. <br />Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />E'1 <br />
