FEB 14 '02 05 :30PM BRAUN INTERTEC
Drywall Supply, Inc.
BBXX- 02 -010A
January 29, 2002
Page 2
P.6/24
Ultimately, and as discussed with Mr. Johnson on the day the borings were drilled, because of the
type of soils encountered in the initial borings, the total number of borings was reduced from eight
to live, Their depths, however, were increased from 15 feet to depths ranging from 20 to 25 feet to
penetrate existing fill and underlying organic materials.
A.3. Available Information
To assist with our analysis, Mr, Germundsen provided us with a Certificate of Survey titled, Litlle
Canada Knox Lumber fir- Prryless Cashwaps, Inc., dated January 1989, with revision dates of May
I, 1989, May 13, 1992, April 8, 1993, and September 15, 1993_ The survey shows the existing
buildings, property boundaries, roads and easements.
A.4. Boring Locations and Elevations
The approximate as- drilled boring locations are shown on the attached Boring Location Sketch,
Figure 1, which is apartiai reproduction of the Certificate of Survey. The boring locations were
staked by a representative of Braun Intertcc using the aforementioned survey to reference their
locations. The borehole surface elevations were referenced to the floor slab of the existing Knox
building. The top of the slab was assumed to be at elevation 50.0,
B. Results
B.X. Boring Logs
The Log of Boring sheets following Figure 1 in the Appendix indicate the depths and identifications
of the materials encountered, penetration resistances, and the results of our groundwater
observations. Strata changes shown for the penetration test borings were inferred from the changes
in the penetration test samples and auger cuttings. I( should be noted that the depths shown as
changes between the strata are only approximate. The changes are likely transitions and the depths
of the changes Iikely vary between the borings_
