Hanson Canadian Days estimates it has annual funding needs of $20,000 over the amount of revenue that is generated from their pull -tab site at Saxon Lanes. We discussed these needs and explored ways for Canadian Days to generate additional funds at the January 711 meeting. It was suggested that rather than disrupting current operations or the status of other licenses, the other charities operating in the City would voluntarily fund Canadian Days' needs, utilizing a pro -rata allocation of' the expense based on gross profit, less taxes. Below is a breakdown of the $20,000 allocation: Total Gross Profit, less taxes, for all charities for 2001 $1,489,948.06 Fire Department — 17% Historical Society — 16% Lake Owasso — 11% Millenium Charity — 44% North Suburban Youth — 12% $3,400 $3,200 $2,200 $8,800 $2,400 Prior to presenting this to the City Council on February 27'x' for their consideration, I would ask that each charity present this option to their membership for consideration, and respond to me in writing by February 21" as to your individual charity's position on it. Please keep in mind that each charity will need to get prior approval from the Gambling Control Board to make a donation to another licensed charity. cc: Mayor and City Council Canadian Days
