In 2010 there were 48 events and 305 tons <br />of salt was used. <br />The Superintendent also reported that City streets were swept three times <br />during the year. Additionally, the Canadian Days parade route was swept. <br />The City inspected six ponds, 22 outfalls, and 11 pollution control devices. <br />The Superintendent reported that he will be proposing some pond work <br />during 2013 to dredge out sediment that has collected. <br />The Superintendent reported that MPCA is proposing a new SWPPP <br />permit and the requirements that will be proposed under the new permit <br />are up for public comment. Once the new permit requirements are <br />adopted, the City's SWPPP will be revised to meet the new requirements. <br />Blesener asked if the City uses liquid salt. The Superintendent reported <br />that the City uses granular salt and limits usage to areas adjacent to stop <br />signs, on curves and steep hills. <br />There was no one from the general public present wishing to comment on <br />this matter. <br />Upon motion by McGraw, seconded by Boss, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Mr. Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -6 -100 — APPROVING THE STORM WATER <br />POLLUTION PREVENTION PROGRAM REPORT AS PRESENTED <br />BY THE PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0).
