MINUTIJS
PLANNING COMMISSION
MARCH 13, 2008
The City Planner indicated that the area was a redevelopment site for the
City and was redeveloped with office/office-warehouse space. Temo
Sunrooms purchased one of the buildings about a year ago. The Planner
noted that in the Spring of 2007, Temo Sunrooms requested a PUD Permit
to construct a display gazebo on their property as well as a second accessory
garage structure at the back of the property. The structure that Temo
Sunroom was using for a garage is actually a trash enclosure. Temo
Sunroom is storing its 4-yard dumpster outside when it is to be stored
within this trash enclosure structure.
The Planner outlined the approval that the Council granted on May 23,
2007:
• Approving the Amendment to PUD Permit to allow a display
gazebo on the Temo Sunroom property at 2905 Country Drive from
March 1 through October 31 of each year, with the gazebo to be
placed on the south side of the building behind the front of the
building.
Approving the Amendment to PUD Permit to allow the construct of
one garage/dumpster enclosure structure not to exceed 800 square
feet in size, located at the rear of the Temo Sunroom property at
2905 Country Drive, contingent upon the removal of the existing
trash enclosure structure prior to construction commencing on the
new garage, and subject to garage/dumpster enclosure structure
location resulting in the minimal loss of parking spaces.
The City Planner pointed out that Mr. Maietta,l'emo Sunrooms, did not
remove the gazebo over the winter months. He also noted that the
garage/dumpster enclosure structure was not built. Mr. Maietta has now
indicated that his interest in how he uses his property has changed
somewhat, therefore, he has made the applications before the
Commission for consideration this evening.
The Planner noted that Mr. Maietta is requesting that the gazebo be
allowed as a permanent outdoor display on the property. He is also
requesting the ability to store up to three unscreened display trailers and
an unscreened commercial dumpster• at the back of the property.
Additionally he is requesting that the City amend the Code to allow
three massage therapy business licenses in the City so that he can rent a
portion of his business to a massage therapy/wellness business. A result
of that second business is the need for a Comprehensive Sign Plan to
provide signage for both businesses.
Bob Maietta, Temo Sunrooms, indicated the he was surprised when he
received a call from the City informing him that he could not store his
-2-
