Hanson <br />As one of the City's budget cutting measures, I would recommend that the Council authorize a <br />voluntary unpaid leave of absence for up to five working days for budget years 2003 and 2004 on a <br />trial basis. Should this program prove successful without inhibiting the ability to provide services to <br />property owners within the City, it would my recommendation to implement this program on a <br />permanent basis. <br />The leave of absence would be subject to approval of the appropriate department head as well as <br />myself. Council should note that, if approved, I may personally be interested in taking advantage of <br />this program to help with the budget issue. <br />
