approximately 7,000 pounds of left over crack filler material the City never used when we did
our own crack filling back in the mid 1990's Since we are not certain if or when we will be able
to perform crack filling: with city crews, it was felt that we should try to get rid of this left over
material before it loses its value. The contractor has agreed to credit us $0.25 per pound for this
material, which is a fair price based on current prices and its age. If you couple this with the
approximately $7,400 left over from the seal coating, it can be concluded that we need
approximately $5,000 from our infrastructure fund for this year's work'i
Recommendation:
Approve Northwest Asphalt Maintenance, Inc to perform 2003 crack filling in the City of Little
Canada, for the amount not to exceed $21,000 and include the use of the unused crack tilling
material left' over from past crack filling operations.
H:KiregS \Streets \Crack (ling \2003 Crack Sealing Meino to Council.doe
